ENGLISH TEACHER

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and caring English Teacher who will work with some of the most complex pupils in our school.  Pupils at The Clare School have a wide range of learning, physical, sensory, communication and medical needs. 

You will plan inspiring learning activities and support our pupils to engage in meaningful, fun lessons.  You will be kind and patient, enabling our pupils to achieve to their highest ability.  You will provide help and support, but foster independence wherever possible.  You will role model a love for learning and show enthusiasm for working with our children and young people.

You don’t need to have any experience working with Complex Needs pupils or any specific training – we will support you with all the training that you need.  We are just looking for someone who wants to work with our fantastic pupils and who wants to make every day amazing.

CLERICAL  ASSISTANTS

We require a dynamic and efficient Clerical Assistant to work with our current Secretary.   Personal qualities are of paramount importance, and the individual appointed will be expected to display professionalism, good humour, flexibility and reliability.  They must also have the ability to work independently and as part of a
busy team.

We are looking for a person who:
-Has a good standard of Education (GCSE’s Grade C or above, including English)
-Has had experience of working in school administration, although full training will
be given
-Pays attention to detail
-Is proficient in the use of ICT
-Is highly organised, efficient and hardworking
-Is able to work constructively as part of a team and use their own initiative
-Is reliable and trustworthy
-Is flexible, adaptable and able to work calmly under pressure
-Has an exemplary attendance record
-Can prioritise work effectively

Hours are Monday to Thursday 9 am to 2 pm and Friday 8.30 am to 4.30 pm.  This role is term time only but you will be required to complete any safeguarding training on the school’s inset days.

You will need to have very good interpersonal skills; general knowledge of ICT and data based applications, word processing, and general office skills. These are essential to enable the post holder to carry out the demands of the role. 

Previous experience of working in a school office is desirable but not essential.  Start date as soon as possible.

PHYSICAL AND PERSONAL SUPPORT ASSISTANT 

The Clare School is looking to appoint a Personal and Physical Support Assistant.  We are a warm and welcoming school, which was graded as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted at its last inspection.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and caring Physical and Personal Support Assistant who will support the whole range of children and young people throughout the school.  Pupils at The Clare School have a wide range of learning, physical, sensory, communication and medical needs. 

You will assist pupils who have reduced continence control with their toileting, cleaning and changing, at all times ensuring that the pupils are comfortable and treated with dignity.  You will also help pupils with their postural management such as supporting them with walking, using standing frames and supporting and encouraging them to participate in their physiotherapy routines.  Part of this role will involve helping pupils with their feeding and drinking, including gastrostomy feeding.  Full training will be provided

MIDDAY SUPERVISORS

We are looking for midday supervisors to feed and support pupils under the direction of the Support Staff Lead and Headteacher.  You will supervise children in all areas of the school, including the dining room, play areas and classroom in order to ensure the safety and good behaviour of the children.

Duties include supervision of the children during their meal to ensure that a good atmosphere is maintained and encouraging good eating habits while assisting younger children where necessary.  You will be required to carry out feeder training and attend any other relevant training.  Help with personal care may be needed.
